CA Wily Manager for SiteMinder® Web Access Manager® 2.0

CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager 2.0 provides real-time visibility into the availability and performance of SiteMinder, identifying problems before they impact users and the business.

The typical SiteMinder installation is a three-tier architecture of agents, policy servers and data stores—tuned for both high availability and performance. Even with a high availability design, SiteMinder administrators need to know the current health and availability of each element in the SiteMinder infrastructure. SiteMinder administrators cannot afford to guess about problem conditions—they need to know exactly what is happening in real time.

CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder provides unique metrics that show the availability and performance of each web agent and policy server in the SiteMinder infrastructure. In addition, the CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder monitors the performance of calls to downstream data stores and monitors their availability and performance impact on SiteMinder itself. Using the CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder, all metrics can be used to generate alerts displayed on-screen, sent via email, or delivered to a range of vendor monitoring consoles.

CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder provides real time visibility into SiteMinder from end to end. Agents report availability, load, performance, failures, errors, and cache status. Policy servers report their availability, load, performance, errors, cache, queues, threads, and sockets. Policy servers also report the performance, load, and errors in calls to each back-end user store, policy store, and key store it accesses. In addition to the SiteMinder metrics, CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder reports on the CPU utilization, memory, disk space, and network connectivity of each machine hosting a SiteMinder web agent or policy server.

With the information from CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder, SiteMinder administrators can know when an individual agent is not available, or is disconnected from policy servers, or when the agent is performing slowly on individual transactions or across a range of transactions. Administrators can also know when the policy server is unavailable, performing slowly, generating errors, or having difficulty accessing back-end data stores. With unique alerts tuned to each SiteMinder installation and historic views of each metric, the SiteMinder administrator now has something previously unavailable—real-time awareness of the SiteMinder infrastructure.

CA Wily Manager for CA SiteMinder provides your IT organization with detailed end-to-end visibility into SiteMinder—giving you the ability to detect and resolve SiteMinder issues in real time. In addition, administrators can set alerts on internal SiteMinder metrics that are true indicators of impending problems—such as the loss of a back-end device or growth in number of new agent connections – that may not cause failures immediately, but could lead to failures in the future.
